New Website Offers Free Sexual Predator Tracking
(Sarasota, FL) If you’re a parent, it’s one of your worst nightmares – the idea that a sexual predator lives just down the street from you and your children. With over 500,000 registered sexual predators living in the United States, the idea of a sexual predator living in one’s own neighborhood is not as far-fetched as most would like to believe.
Now, Applied Databases, a company headquartered in Sarasota, Florida that tracks sexual predators, is offering a free membership to anybody who simply signs up on their website at www.sexualpredatorusa.com. All a member need do is enter their address and they’ll be automatically emailed whenever a sexual predator moves into their vicinity.
“Originally our idea was to charge an annual fee for our membership,” says Terry Hanratty, Vice President of Development with Applied Databases, “but as we thought further about it we realized that the service is just too important, so we decided to make it free to anybody who wants to use it.” The site will now be financed entirely through corporate sponsorships, according to Hanratty, with sponsors getting prominent visibility in front of the thousands of people daily that Applied Databases is projecting will visit the site.
In addition to sexual predator tracking, the site also boasts a Neighborhood Watch section with up-to-date reports of all types of criminal activity in one’s community, as well as a way for visitors to report missing children. One needn’t be a member to report a missing child, but each member will receive an automatic alert when a child is reported missing, a kind of “Amber” alert system. In fact, the site links to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the official home of the Amber Alert Program.
Explains Hanratty, “There’s a lot of information available out there for parents and other members of the community, but people just don’t know how to get it. Our goal is to make that information easy to access, and with SexualPredatorUSA.com, we think we’ve found a way to do that. People want to be informed, and if we can provide one place where people can easily get the information they want, and all for free, then we think we can make everybody’s community just that much safer.”
SexualPredatorUSA.com is scheduled to be fully functional by the end of this month.
